From August 16th to 20th, the Youth Sustainability Forum 2024 took place in Johor, Malaysia, organized by Kelab Belia Prihatin Malaysia. Our co-founder, Jitsai Santaputra, had the privilege of speaking on the "ASEAN Renewable Energy Landscape" panel, addressing a dynamic audience of young leaders from across Asia.
On the panel, Jitsai spoke alongside Aaliyah Hasna, Assistant Manager, Malaysian Green Technology and Climate Change Corporation (MGTC), Dr Renard Siew, Head of Sustainability, Yinson, and moderated by NORSYAHIRA S., Research Officer, UKM-YSD Chair for Sustainability.
Jitsai shared insights from our research on the ASEAN Youth Energy Outlook, emphasizing the significance of youth voices in shaping the region's energy future. With 34% of the ASEAN population aged 15-34, their perspectives must be heard and valued. She discussed practical ways for young people to engage in advocacy, underscoring that it’s never too late to start making a difference. Jitsai also highlighted the growing demand for sustainability jobs and the online tools available for young people to explore green and energy careers.
We are proud to contribute to this important conversation and to continue empowering the next generation of leaders in sustainability. 🌟
